The Town received notification earlier this year that the contractor who excavates spaces for conventional burials and inurnments in cold weather when there is frost in the ground has increased his rates.

In response, the Town Board increased the costs for burial expenses at their March 11, 2026 meeting to avoid losing money and to cover administrative costs.  The cost per burial plot, however, has remained the same: $400 for residents and $1,000 for non-residents.

The new burial expenses are listed below:

Conventional burials on weekdays until 3:00 PM       $1,150

Conventional burials on weekdays after 3:00 PM       $1,350

Conventional burials on Saturdays                             $1,350

Conventional burials on Sundays or Holidays            $1,450
